CONFIRM TRAINING

All trainees MUST read and acknowledge the Snowsport Scotland Athlete Form, prior to training. THIS IS A NEW AGREEMENT for 2021. Trainees will NOT be allowed access to the centre without this form being acknowledged.

You MUST read the agreement in full and accept by booking your child into the Return to Training April 2021 session on ClassForKids.

OVER 13?

We also request that all trainees over the age of 13, and their parents/carers, complete the following Sport Scotland COVID Awareness Training prior to returning to Hillend.

Do you need ski hire?

If you require hire equipment please email LSR Head Coach Callum Henderson with a list of equipment you need and what sizes.

Hillend have asked for prior notice of what will be needed so they can have it ready, including skis, boots, helmets and poles.

Pre-booked kit will be available at the hire doors so the trainees don't have to go inside, access for them will be via the metal stairs and then back down them to get to the tow slope.

Training+

If you wish to get some additional training in over the next 2 months we have a couple of extra training nights you can sign up for.

LSR Tuesday Night Training 19:00-20:30 - 30 spaces ONLY
LSR Sunday Night Performance (2009 and older) 17:00-18:30 - 30 spaces ONLY

All the details can be found using the link below.

Do you know the new rules?

  1. CHECK what days you are booked onto prior to arriving at the slope. (NO access to the centre on non-training days). YOUR BOOKINGS ARE ALL HERE.

  2. ARRIVE no earlier 15 minutes before training.  LEAVE no later than 30 minutes after training.

  3. REGISTRATION (by LSR COVID Officers) will be done on the car park ramp leading to the tow slope and will be the only access point. Look for signs to show you the right queue. MASKS ON & NO PARENTS PLEASE, unless absolutely necessary.

  4. Registration starts 15 minutes prior to training. If you arrive more than 15 minutes after training starts you will not be able to access the centre.

  5. There is no access to the ski centre buildings, other than toilet facilities and first aid.  Any bags, additional pairs of skis, etc. must be stored behind the crash barrier at the bottom of the tow slope.  We advise arriving in as much kit as possible as there is no seating.

  6. Please meet your coach on the hill and do not change groups (coaches will have group lists). There will be a coach to help at the bottom of the tow slope at the start of the session.

  7. Masks must be worn in all indoor spaces and while interacting with the LSR COVID Officer. This applies to all trainees, coaches and parents/carers, unless you have medical exemption.  We recommend wearing a buff and just keeping it around your neck, as it saves having to remove your helmet to put ear loops on.

  8. Trainees are asked to maintain 2m social distancing between each other where possible. However, trainees may share the chairlift. Social distancing is to be maintained in the queues for all lifts.

  9. Coaches must maintain 2m social distancing from trainees, unless in emergencies.

  10. First aid can only be carried out by Hillend, unless it's deemed as emergency. All first aid will be in line with St Johns Ambulance COVID-19 guidelines.

  11. If the café is open for use, strict social distancing, maximum numbers and mask requirements will be in effect. IF the café is open, we would ask parents/carers not to rely on gaining access, even when it is raining as there is insufficient space to comply with social distancing guidelines.

NO SPECTATORS

Unfortunately no change on this from 2020.

Hillend have instructed that parents/carers of LSR trainees DO NOT access the centre or slopeside in order to spectate during LSR Training sessions. As per late 2020, this is being imposed on LSR by Hillend due to numbers on the slope and potential numbers of spectators. Our numbers per session are doubling from late 2020, so Hillend is watching very closely.  If this rule is infringed, both parent/carer and trainee will be asked to leave the centre.

REFUNDS

Hillend has reaffirmed their cancellation policy with LSR during the covid-19 pandemic. LSR, as a non-profit, is dependent on Hillend’s refunding process.

Where Hillend (by extension LSR), cancel block bookings, entire sessions or whole groups during the covid-19 pandemic, refund or credit will be given. LSR shall always try to rearrange training first before cancelling if done on this scale.

Where a trainee is impacted by Tiered restrictions that prevent travel to the slope, imposed by the Scottish Government, LSR will be able to refund or credit missed training (this only includes the main block, not ad-hoc training). Any refunds will be processed at the end of the LSR 2021 Term, at the end of June 2021.

This is a hugely labour intensive process and is not feasible on a weekly or monthly basis.  Where single trainees are absent, due to no show, injury, illness or self-isolation, refunds cannot be made.

If you are not content with any of the above, the attached SSS form or Hillend’s restrictions, LSR kindly asks that you do not come to training.
