LSR Abroad Camps

These camps offer extra training and/or race support alongside our regular training and are an excellent opportunity to bridge the gap between dry slope racing and on-snow training and racing. Dates of all of the camps are subject to change and will require a minimum number of trainees to run. These camps are open to LSR Members and LSR Associate Members 24/25. Members, but please note that some camps have age-related restrictions.

All camp queries should be sent to headcoach@lothianskiracing.co.uk

LSR New Year Camp 24/25

We want to provide something that works for those who want to race, but also those who just want to get better at skiing. Ski racing provides a continuous learning environment that encourages children to think more for themselves and get a more well-rounded view on the processes of learning.

This is the second year LSR has done this, after a fantastic time last year (just check our social media out) and as before we are all passionate about making it work and creating something with longevity. We want to increase skiing and racing participation in safe and enjoyable learning environments whilst maintaining continuity in the training.

So, we are happy to formally announce the LSR New Year Camp 24/25.

LSR is doing this in conjunction with Peak Snowsports, who LSR Coach Eilidh McLeod operates in the area.  This gives us prime access to LSR Coaches and facilities in the Portes du Soleil area.

Coaches

LSR Coach Eilidh McLeod (Peak Snowsports) will be leading the camp, same as last year, will be supported by other coaches where required.

All coaches are qualified through BASI, Snowsport Scotland, or another relevant governing body. All coaches carry relevant child protection, first aid and disclosure qualifications, same as required in Scotland.

Format

The camp/holiday will be operating as 100% outlier (non-residential), which means trainees will need to stay with parents in self-organised accommodation and arrange their own travel.

LSR Coaches will meet trainees at a specified location, go training/racing and then trainees are returned to parents at the end of the days skiing. Outside of on slope activities parents/trainees can do as they wish (although LSR Coaches will never be too far away to help etc.)

The camp/holiday is split into 2 separate weeks, aptly named week 1 and week 2. Each week sitting on either side of Christmas.

* Individual days may be available to book after full week slots have been filled.
